The excellence of the hardware is not the only key element to succeed in monitoring complex biologic media. It also requires a very specific data processing which surpasses from several orders of magnitude a quantitative estimation based on Raman peak intensity measurement. This chemometric approach has been developed by RESOLUTION Spectra Systems to become robust and easy to implement.

The initial strategy of RESOLUTION Spectra Systems was to first apply and mature the SWIFTS™ technology on the rapidly accessible market of laser control. In the meantime, we analyzed and looked for a market that would offer larger business opportunities and would best fit with the competitive edges of our unique SWIFTS™ technology, specifically dedicated to high-resolution spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy was subsequently identified from the start of the company as a field to be addressed. Beginning of 2015, the decision was taken that bioprocess analytics would be the wider market to address with Raman spectroscopy, while we would continue to commercialize our current products for laser control and structure control niche markets. After fruitful partnerships with biopharmaceutical major companies, ProCellics™ analytical bioprocess Raman analyzer was released end of 2016.
In 2017, the company was granted a Horizon 2020 grant by the European Commission for our CellUp innovation and business program, to further develop our innovative disruptive solution that will make the company a worldwide leader in the field of real-time bioprocess monitoring. This program is based on the background of SWIFTS™, Raman spectroscopy and chemometrics technologies. Final users from the biotech industry are welcome to participate with business case contributions.
